Well, you're probably wondering what these three have in common. This is the title of a talk we give to encourage groups of all sizes. When we share the details, we show that we are no stranger to hard times ourselves, so we really live what we counsel, write and speak about!

If you've ever had the misfortune of having the utilities turned off so you don't have heat, electricity or air conditioning,or if you've slept in your car in an isolated location in the dead of winter, we empathize. What we share is that we have devoted all that we are and have to God and the work He has given us to do, and hard times still have been part of our life. The good news is that just because things may be hard now, they don't always have to be!

What sustains us is both our faith in God, how He has changed our lives for the better in the past, and God's word that contains so very many promises to each and every one of us who are His. It's summed up in Matthew 6:33, where Jesus commands us to seek God's kingdom first, (His way of living according to His law of love), and everything we truly need will be given to us.

We share with those who hear us speak and you who see us write that what God has done and continues to do in our life and ministry, He can and will do for you according to His will, plan and purpose for your life. Now that's encouraging.

When I first came to Turkey in the late 70s we used to have daily -long-water and electric cuts. You are right when you share Matthew 6.33-our loving Father knows our needs and provides and real contentment is in our relationship with Him not in the things around us. Blessings. Thanks for the reminder!
