For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Hello readers. This month on Compulsive Reader Talks I’ve interviewed Helen Townsend, who spoke about her “faction” Under the Starry Frame (which always makes me think of the Helen Demidenko/Darville controversy – Helen herself being a faction too). The talk was so interesting, I was sorry I’d only scheduled a half hour. Helen’s previous books include quite a lot of lighthearted chick lit, so this quite literary biography/fiction was a real departure for her. Our next guest on the 17th of October, is Justin Lowe, who will be talking about his verse novel The Great Big Show. The show can be listened to at the site, or downloaded to your favourite MP3 player. Speaking of chick lit, I did an interesting guest blog on Boychik Lit, where I wrote about gender and quality in literature and caused quite a stir with my upscale snobbery. I’ve also been featured as a Busywoman’s Top Read, had a terrific review posted at The New Book Review, and another really wonderful one posted at Aaron Lazar’s Blog. I’ll be running a session at the Muse Online Conference next week and hope to ‘see’ some of you there. Guest blogs scheduled for the future include a range of topics from parenting to self-actualisation (at a health spa no less -- being a novelist makes you an 'expert' on everything!), letting the book go (kind of like literary parenting), and a few really odd topics -- I'll chatter about anything. More soon. Maggie
