The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Some people here still don't know what to do with friends -- whether or not to invite other members of the network to be their friends, why have friends, how to use them, etc. So, here's my advice:

First, collect friends. They make you look good. Plus friends can lead to real friendships and relationships. We can all use more friends.

Second, all friends become part of your address book so you can email them directly, either singly or in groups, if you have a message to share.

If you want to be selective, that's okay. Personally, I am inviting all members as friends, but then I'm the founder of this network so like Tom at MySpace, I take it as my personal responsibility to welcome all new members as friends.

I think inviting people as friends is the first step in this network to creating relationships that you might find useful, either as just friends, as business partners, as mentors, as mentees (I'm forgetting the name for people who are mentored, so I'm inventing a name), as co-conspiritors (spelling?) in creating group marketing ventures, etc.

So make friends. Figure out what to do with them later. :))
