Looking for some old-school vampires? Cast your eyes to the East to see some ancient vampires that have withstood not only the test of time, but of bad movie-making!

Yama, the God of Death in Nepalese mythology, is often depicted as standing on a pile of skeletons while drinking blood from a cup, usually carved out of a human skull. He is a popular deity in Nepal where, as a member of the Hindu pantheon, he receives respect and adoration along with his fellow gods.

So remember - everything old can be new again - especially where vampires are involved!

True - while he may not be technically a vampire in the classic sense of the word, he does drink human blood. The "classic" vampire drinks human blood, such as Anne Rice's characters and many television vampires.

I am a Hindu and Lord Yama is the god of death
but he is not a vampire. I think vampire means something which sucks animal blood if I am not mistaken . Hindus after death are supposed to go to yamlok and recieve punishment according to there sins
