I wrote SAVAGE IMPACT in 2009 and it was published in 2010.

Hospitalization robbed me of hope, but rehab taught me that I did have a future and as strange as it may seem, my life is better today than it was five years ago.

Life is a precious gift, one I will never take for granted again, but it seems to be stubbornly embedded in our nature to always want to take one more step, even when we know it's not safe to do so...and until we fall off the pier, we think we just might be invincible. I did.

Not only was it a shock to find out I was only human, it got worse because I lived in CONSTANT humiliation as my life-prolonging helplessness consumed my every miserable day.

I couldn't see, move, talk, swallow, or scratch an itch.
