Not a pleasant one, I might add. Like most of you, Sundays are dedicated to the Lord, the family, and friends. Sometimes, I indulge in a spa treatment including a mint aroma detox bath.

I told hubby about my plan. Moments later he called out from the bathroom. “Don’t get in the tub, got a visitor.”

A lizard had wiggled itself inside the bathroom and made our tub his playground. No big deal. In Florida, lizards slither under screen doors and squeeze through any crack. We’ve grown accustom to them. They’re as common as eighty-degree weather in December.

With full confidence and reassurance, I waited while hubby removed the skinny intruder. And to my pleasure, making the tub free of any reptiles.

Sadly, when other lizards slither in my life, I often lack the patience needed to deal with them. I call upon God. But rather than wait in confidence, I fret, wondering if He’ll be capable of resolving the issue. I worry, despite knowing He has the power.

I imagine, to God, my problems are small - like the tiny lizard. But often, I’m the one who makes them bigger than they are. And in my mind, I see them as vicious alligators.

Hubby didn’t quit until the task was completed. God also has the same promise, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).

What lizards are you facing today? Do you have the correct assessment of their size?

I pray you view the intruders in your life through God’s power and might.
