Okay, some of you have friends like these: diligent like royal guards, detailed like FBI agents, and giving like Mother Theresa herself.

Well, it was some of these kinds of friends who look after me who pointed out something quite embarrassing. I had sent cards and the return address label had our last name misspelled. (I’ve got burning cheeks even as I write this.)

Dumb, right? Who would send anything with their own name misspelled? You’d have to be blind to do such a thing. (Smile.)

When this silly thing was pointed out, calmly, and with a Christian-like attitude, I acknowledged the oversight and tossed that batch of labels in the trash.

Acknowledging has been a habit I developed long ago. Each morning, I acknowledge who God is, what He means to me, what He’s capable of, and how He works out the events in my life. I’ve also been known to acknowledge his discipline - not pretty - but necessary.

Here’s awesome news…this is what will happen when we acknowledge Him:

“I will rescue him; I will protect him For he acknowledges my name. He will call upon Me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him” (Psalm 91:14-15, NIV).

Are you jumping for joy at the results God promises when we acknowledge Him? I am!

So I encourage you, at this moment, let go of that mouse, lean back, close your eyes, and recognize His presence…He’s as close as your next breath.

May this year be filled with moments of awe as you acknowledge Him, call out His name and trust in His Word.

Janet
