Growing with Joe is the story of a courageous woman who has been forced to deal with the diagnosis of CP with her young son. In it the author describes her fears and feelings of this disorder from denial to anger to acceptance. The reader can easily see how this affected not just the author but her entire family. Every day was a struggle with trying to get her son to be as normal as possible and finally coming to terms with his speciality no matter what and being the best parent she could be. I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars. This book made me sad but it is a lesson for everyone not to judge children by their disorder and to accept a person for who they are on the inside not just what's on the outside. I hope the reader realizes what a tremendous impact this story can have in your life.
