Pikes Peak Adventure League Speech

I enjoyed my speech at the Pikes Peak Adventure League about my newest book The Orphan Boy, A Love Affair with Mining, on March 6, 2008. The Pikes Peak group in Colorado Springs, Colorado, was very lively which made for an interesting meeting. This is a group of people that enjoys the beauty and splender of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and is actively preserving the history of the region.

They were interested in my book about the Orphan Boy mine and the Going for the Gold, The History of the Phoenix Mine in Colorado DVD that was bundled with it. Both of these present a very informative picture of the development and operation of a small mine in Colorado after World War II.
