I just saw a report on work force discrimination that troubled my spirit greatly. The report which is put out by the U.N. in Geneva and is 128 pages long stated that The disabled, gays and lesbians, and people living with HIV/AIDS are suffering from new and more subtle forms of workplace discrimination. The report goes on to state that race, religion, and gender are still reasons why work worce discrimination takes place. The one thing that troubles my spirit the most is that we as human beings have yet to evolved to a state where issues of race, gender, and religion would not be reasons to discriminate. The other thing that was most troubling to my spirit was that largest segment of people that are discriminated aginst is woman. It does not matter if it’s a rich and powerful country like the U.S. or a third world country. It would seeem to me that most women in the work place are someones mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and for those reasons alone should be respected. A society that does not honor and recognize the importance of everyone is doomed for failure on some level.
