It is almost hurricane season once again here in the United States. This is a time of year when those people who live in hurricane prone areas have uneasy spirits. In a report gallop poll by USA Today most people said there families and local emergency agencies were ready to deal with a disaster but the federal government is not. It was no surprise to me that minorities and women were even far less confident about our federal government’s readiness. It makes perfect sense on the heels of hurricane Katrina and the federal government’s response to that disaster Most of the people who needed help the most were minority, women and in most cases were poor. In all situations including natural disaster women are still responsible for the children, their parents, and everybody else.
