“A Prince in Trenton, Seriously?” Mark Miller The Author’s Lab/Collaboration Series

My wife is nice enough to say that this is one of our pieces of work to date. I think the material and the other author have more to do it with it than my limited writing ability. “Prince” as we have come to call it is a digital short story that can be read by anyone, and to anyone. I plan to read it to my grandsons and also I am going to let my youngest daughter finally take a crack at something the old man had a part in. It has me a bit pumped and I am thankful that Mark Miller has not just the skill and the chops to create such a unique universe but decided to go that route. For me it was fun, different, and a joy. Once I got into it ,it hit me that if this digital short story turned out the way the others have in terms of quality and content, then my daughter could share a piece of what I do with her friends; it got me pretty amped up to say the least. The pressure built on me, trust me on that; this wasn’t a walk in the park for me. Mark Miller has an amazing way with words and the universe he chose for us to inhabit was for me, nothing short of magical.

The only character that I could figure out to have in this edition of the series was my wife. I have joked repeatedly about how I was going to be able to work Harry Balls, and Peter Bater into this; I couldn’t. My wife is one of the central characters so she was the one that carried the baton this time. Trust me the gang is back next week as Rose Valenta and I go at it in a comedy club. That is truly not a kid’s read. The Author’s Lab does have another YA story on the horizon as I have started to work with Joan Meijer on “The Rescue” and Rie Sheridan Rose on another YA fantasy digital short story.

Here is what you can find inside the virtual covers for “Prince”:

“Mark Miller, author of the fantasy-adventure series The Empyrical Tales, joins Giovanni Gelati, renowned blogger/show host/ and short story entrepreneur. In this episode of the Authors’ Lab, The G-Man faces his biggest challenge yet: to make his wife happy!

This family-friendly adventure takes the reader from an abandoned storefront in Trenton to a whole new world.  Giovanni is in search of the perfect gift for an anniversary present and he may have found it. The strange man at the shop gives Giovanni a scroll and in the process makes him the Prince of Trenton.  It is up to Giovanni to deliver the scroll to Mrs. Gelati and find out what awaits them when they untie the mysterious red ribbon. Miller seamlessly weaves his fantasy world with Gelati’s bold humor, making this a fast, fun adventure for all ages.
