AN ANALYSIS OF 1000 EDUCATIONAL APPS

We conducted a research project to identify and analyze educational mobile apps. We obtained the data that is available in Google play store and Apple iTunes store. We collected several key attributes for 961 educational apps that are listed in the Google Play store. Although we looked at information related to 1368 educational apps, we focused on 961 apps that had install information. In addition to getting the installation and rating information from the stores, we categorized the apps into various learning categories and topics. We would be sharing insights from our analysis over the next few weeks. These insights will be published as series of charts with data. These observations or insights would help both app developers/publishers and also parents.
