Blog Chain Takes on St. Patrick's Day Through Twitter

Writers in the Sky Creative Writing Services to Host Blog Chain to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

WITS owner Yvonne Perry loves to network online. She just finished hosting a Valentine’s blog chain in which 27 of her 3,000 followers on Twitter participated. And now she is back for round two with another blog chain to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17 across the world by both Irish and non-Irish people. Parades and lively music, beer drinking, wearing green, eating corned beef and cabbage, displaying shamrocks, and chasing leprechauns are part of the tradition.

A blog chain involves 12 to 25 people who have a blog and want to participate in a fun group activity. Each participant visits the blog of each person on the chain within one week. When visiting the blogs, participants read and comment on posts they find interesting. By leaving a comment on 25 blogs each person will in turn receive 24 comments on their own blog.

“When linking blogs, it’s a good idea to connect with ones that are similar in theme or subject matter,” says Yvonne Perry. “For this chain, I am looking for blogs that have a ‘green’ environmental focus, beer/ale theme, or anything to do with St. Paddy’s Day.”

The St. Patrick’s Day blog chain will run from March 11 through 17. Those interested in participating may contact Yvonne Perry on her Web site: http://writersinthesky.comor follow @writersinthesky on Twitter and let her know by tweeting with the hashtag #BlogChain.
