Book Launch and Freedom from Bullies Week

This week should be of major importance for all of us and we should convey the importance as we speak to groups this week and every week. Bullies, abuse and violence are unacceptable behaviors.

This week is Freedom from Bullies Week. This is also the week the YWCA sets aside as A Week Without Violence.

I have written a book "Because, It's Just Good Manners!". The launch includes a challenge to students to practice good manners for one week - which week is not important, only that they do it.

Businesses and families are challenged to "bully" schools to participate. October is also National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the YWCA Week without Violence is October 16-22, 2010, and the BigMarch Against Bullying is scheduled for November 15, 2010.

As adults, we set the standards and examples for children to emulate. Do we want to be remembered or seen because we did not use good manners? Are we, as adults, up to the challenge!
