Book Review: The Fourth Year Spell by Amanda Jeffery

This is an interesting fantasy story that will keep you wondering what will happen until the end. It is a novelette. But it has the punch of a novel. It is a story that shows you that there is much more to our reality that we can put our finger on.

Declan Devereaux has been working hard and is ready to complete his Fourth Year Spell. This is so that he can move onto the next step in his studies. However, he still has one more thing to do before he can declare himself victorious. He has to get into the Mayor’s Manor. And it isn’t an easy place to get into.

Little did Devereaux know but someone else had the same idea as he had to rob the Mayor’s Manor on that very same night. The local Thieve’s Guild meet Declan in mid-robbery. Can he complete his mission anyways and finally complete his Fourth Year Spell?

I loved this adventurous story. It shows that almost anything is possible if you can cast a spell on another person. It also shows perseverance and perspicacity in the face of adversity. These are all great lessons for the reader to learn.
