Attorney Blake Kemp has got to be one of the orneriest, stubborn men there is.  Not only is he a terrible boss, barking orders like a general and demanding that the staff bring him coffee, but he seems to be just as prickly outside of the office, too.

By contrast, Violet Hardy, Blake’s secretary, is sweet and mild mannered.  Whenever there is something that needs to be taken care of, it’s usually Violet who volunteers to help out.  Unfortunately, Violet has been in love with Blake for some time, but the obstinate man doesn’t know it.  At last seeing the light after a rather nasty row, Violet gives up and walks out.

Finally, Blake Kemp begins to realize what a treasure Violet was.  All of the little things she used to take care of so quietly and efficiently now become land mines in his office, ready to trip him up at any moment.  The other secretaries hate him, too, and he can’t seem to retain good help.

Blake doesn’t want to get involved with Violet, but it’s time for him to face his true feelings.  With her dark hair and round, womanly figure, Violet is a temptation Blake just can’t resist.
