The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Well it's been a long time since I've been on this forum but life has been kind of crazy of late.

My illustrator submitted my cover for my first book, State of Wilderness, to the Coveys back in August and she got notification last weekend that the cover would be posted this week. So, please everyone, jump over to the Covey blog and vote for my cover.

Also, I submitted my book to the Sibert Medal, the Newberry and Caldecott awards which is through the ALSC (part of ALA - for more descriptions of the awards, you can check it outhere). The announcements will be made Monday at 7:45 AM Mountain Time. Viewing can be done online here. Hope you all will join me Monday and see who the winners and honors are. I'd love to see some award attached to my books.

See you all in the postings - E :)

Beverly,

The book signing is tomorrow (I did one in November but had no one show up) from 11 am to 1 pm - come on out and visit with me and upcoming author, Katie Hines. Her book will be out this summer but she's joining me for some brainstorming time and some ideas to help create some buzz for her book. Tell all your friends to come visit - E :)

Elysabeth - congrats on making the list! Happy to hear that things are moving for you. In fact, I did note in our local paper that you did a book-signing at The Open Book. I only wish you the best.

Sincerely,
Beverly Thompson

Patricia,

They sound wonderful and maybe when CPSIA gets cleared up you can find another publisher to get them out. The kids need things like your Stanley St. Irregulars (which I'd love to read that series myself). I'm hoping to keep my books in the 9 to 12 year old group as I feel that is where the most good will come from but now it's a wait and see game with the government and seeing if they will repeal CPSIA and rework it to really protect the kids and not hurt them nor damage the economy further. Email me sometime and let's see what we can do to get your series published - E :)

Elysabeth, Wonderful to see that you're on the list and like your cover very much! Do wish you the best. Congratulations again. I have children's books (e-books), a Fat Cat and Gray Mouse series. But as frequently is the case, the publisher went out of business. Also, have a trio of fifth-grade, multi-cultural sleuths, the Stanley St. Irregulars (they're not like a regular gang, they do good not bad). Fun stuff but a very competitive scene out there. Good luck, again!
