As an amateur athlete, I always knew this [thinking, and therefore believing, I/we can win] to be, in fact, true. Transferring this
same ability to the game of life was not always such an easy task,
however. In sports, the luxury of depending on others, such as
teammates or coaches, to help provide the contagious energy to
succeed was less challenging. Navigating this 'matrix' called life
meant that I, alone, had to generate the power to think victoriously
in spite of the perception of obstacles that materialized on my way
