Finally published my second novel "The Soul Bearers"

Sylvia Massara, author of 'The Soul Bearers' has today announced the release of her novel in ebook format.

Partly inspired by true life events, this is a story of courage, the gift of friendship and unconditional love. The story involves three people whose lives cross for a short period of time and the profound effect that results from their interaction.

"Alex Dorian, freelance travel writer and a survivor of severe child abuse, arrives in Sydney in an attempt to exorcise the ghosts of her past," Massara said of one of her main characters. "She shares a house with Steve and the disturbing Matthew, a homosexual couple; and Alex finds herself inexplicably attracted to Matthew, but she must battle with her repressed sexuality and fear of intimacy."

The story is told from multiple points of view, mainly those of the main characters, and it explores the true meaning of unconditional love--for one's self and for others. Readers of 'The Soul Bearers' will come away with a deeper understanding of human relationships and what it means to truly love without condition.

Massara explained that the audience for this novel, which is classified as general fiction, is adults 18 years and over, both gay and heterosexual. "The story was inspired by a dear friend who lost his partner to AIDS," Massara said. "When I heard his story and the struggles he had to face, I knew I had to write about it."

Though highly fictionalised, certain aspects of the story are based on real events; and Massara has drawn from life's experience to put together a beautiful story filled with the inspirational message of hope in the face of adversity.
