Do you plan everything or just let the story flow?
My book of proverbs was not planned. I received the idea from the Holy Spirit and He just poured the proverbs into me. The majority of the proverbs flowed from Him into me. The others came from life experiences.
Do your characters ever want to take over the story?
Practical Proverbs for Everyday Living doesn’t have any characters. It only has wise teachings to help the reader have a more purposeful and productive life.
What is your favorite thing to do when not writing?
My favorite thing to do when I am not writing is to watch documentaries of people who accomplished something in life. It doesn’t matter if it is small or great what they have accomplished. I am a student of people and the way they live their lives. I love to learn how people accomplished their goals and dreams. This type of learning brings me great pleasure.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I love to work anytime, as long as I have a quiet and peaceful spot. Although nights are more quiet and peaceful, I tend to get sleepy in the night. In the morning, I am more energetic and my brain flows better, once I find that quiet spot. I would consider myself as a morning person, because that is when my brain is at its maximum level.
Where do you dream of travelling to and why?
I dream of travelling to the Fiji Islands to one of their private island resorts. The reason that I like the Fiji Islands is because of its tranquility and beauty. I love beautiful beaches and privacy. It is my dream to own a private island. A trip like this will help to bring my dream into reality.
Do distant places feature in your books?
Practical Proverbs for Everyday Living is the first book that I wrote. It does not feature any distant places. Maybe in the future, I might feature distant places.
Do you listen to music while writing?
Absolutely not; I function best in quietness. My thoughts flow more freely when there is quietness.

What have you learned about writing and publishing since you first started?
I learned that writing takes a lot of work in order to produce a good book. You have to write and then tweak your sentences and sometimes re-tweak your sentences, so that you can have a good message to present to your readers. I have learned that a good publisher is very important. My publisher worked with me very closely. She assisted me with the book cover design, editing, layout, etc. I surprisingly learned that writing and publishing was only a half of the work, the other half is marketing the book.
Is there anything you would do differently?
I would do more reading to expand my vocabulary. This will assist me in becoming a better writer.
Who, or what, if anything has influenced your writing?
My late pastor, Dr. Myles Munroe, inspired me and many others to write books. He was a great inspiration to me in many other areas of my life. For example: He inspired me to find my God given purpose and fulfil it. One of his famous quotes is, “The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life without a purpose”.
Anything you would say to those just starting out in the craft?
I would say to a new writer, choose a topic that you are enthusiastic about. Do your research if research is needed on your topic and expand your vocabulary. Read good books to see how a professional writer writes. Finally, choose a good publisher that works well in every area of publishing and one that you can have a great working relationship with.
What are three words that describe you?
Three words to describe me are: passionate, determined and focused.
What's your favorite book or who is your favorite writer?
Apart from the Bible, my favorite book is “Think and Grow Rich” written by Napoleon Hill.
