The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Hi everyone,

Ok. So i've decided to try this blog thing. Don't know how much i can actually write to keep you interested, but i'm going to try. I joined this website and a few others, hoping to Advertise and Market my book (s). I never thought trying to get people to my work would be so dang hard. I was excited when i completed 'Two-Play in 2006 and even more elated when i took the risk of sending out my manuscript.

When i say risk i mean risk, because at the time, i hadn't even copyrighted my book! However, i believe in a higher force, and eventually had the manuscript copyrighted. Of the handful of emails i sent, querying Agents and publishers, i had two offers for my erotica novel. The first one was more interesting, because they weren't asking for anything. I mean, no money upfront or later, no fees for reading, editing etc.

I took my time and had a good ole time researching the company. I found them to be legitimate, so the next step was to scrutinize the contract like my life depended upon it. That's where my younger brother, steven came in.
Satisfied, that they didn't want to take my manuscript as theirs, i signed the contract (electronically) and sent of the hard copy.

I could breathe a sigh of relief!

Weeks went by and the manuscript was being edited, in order for it to be publishable (is that a word?)LOL. It's finally ready and i give my approval.

March 2008, it was published and i fantasized about the many copies i would see on book shelves in my local book store, online and on the Best Seller's list! Ha! what a fantasy eh?

Well, i've still got those rose-tinted glasses on and will not take them off, because i believe if you dream it, you'll see it. And if you can see it you'll live it! So i'm still hopeful that i'll see my books on Websites such as Amazon.com, Borders etc...

Hey Freya,

How are you? Thanks for the encouragement. I am hanging on, because I really believe my books will be seen eventually. I'm still working hard on revising my novel, but will take some time to check out the website you gave me.

Take care and hope to speak to you soon.

Ps: How's things with you and your books?
