New Publishing Channels Can Breathe Life Into Older Books

As most of you know, one of the biggest challenges in this business is bringing attention to a book that's been out for a while.

Face it, the media is enamored with what's new.

Once a new book has garnered it's 15 minutes of fame, it becomes increasingly difficult, if not impossible, to attract that all important media attention. Of course it can be done, and was executed beautifully a few weeks ago by Shel Horowitz - "he who never lets up":-)

Now, with the addition of new publishing channels, like Apple's App Store, those less-than-new books can get a second chance.

I'll be putting this theory to the test with my second book, This is Your Life, Not a Dress Rehearsal, a wonderful book that has received critical acclaim and been a best seller in Japan among other countries. Due to a variety of circumstances, it was never properly marketed in the US.

My hope is that now, with it's availability as an iphone App, a new generation of readers will have a chance to learn about it and, because of the newness of the iphone, I can get some buzz going.

For the curious, it's here in the App Store
