Jena Childs didn’t ask to be gifted. Yet, her life has been overwhelmed by a psychic power she can’t control. The sexy Londoner’s power to shape plus control electricity separated her from the norm since the day she’d been born. Yet, she never stopped longing for the acceptance that had long been denied her. In an impulsive act to change her living circumstances, Jena is caught using her abilities leading to a meeting that will change her life forever.

Agent for a super secret psychic operations program MI7, Adam Reynolds isn’t looking for anything from the buxom cocoa-skinned beauty he’s been sent to append for involuntarily induction into MI7’s psychic ops program. But, one glance into her deep dark eyes stirs feelings in him he’d accepted he’d never know. The turn of her head and the moistness of her lips bring out a longing for connection to her in him that leads him to put his life on the line to avoid Jena’s capture by his superiors and the psychic crime organization, The Pulse.

Their desire--immediate, strong and undeniable--leads them into each others’ arms, where Adam receives a startling revelation that could mean Jena’s life or death. A thousand lost lifetimes are revealed in his lover’s eyes, leading Adam on a quest to discover the mysterious origins of his own soul and the tie to the woman who walked out of his dreams into his life.

Yet, the dogged determination of a secret enemy has the potential to drive the lovers apart forever. Can Adam, seeking redemption from the damnation of a thousand lost lifetimes, save the woman he loves from death or will a tragic history repeat itself?

“If you’ll come with me now, I’ll do everything in my power to help you.” She felt shocked to hear such honest sincerity in his words.

It felt almost as if he had said those same words or something similar to her dozens of times before. With the feeling of rightness that came from looking at him came an odd feeling of fear, as if time were running in a direction she couldn’t completely keep up with. She only hoped she could face whatever task lay ahead of her.

Jena didn’t know if what Lt. Reynolds had just said to her could be true. He’d proven himself an enemy, wanting to capture her for a government agency who wanted God knew what from her.

Yet, what other choice did she really have? She glanced at all the frightened people around her, who were looking at her as some sort of monster. All she had ever really wanted or needed was someone to believe in her.

Not her father, or the mother who had abandoned her for his drunken ways; not the dozens of unnamed, half-remembered faces since. Now, for the first time in a long while, a man wanted her to believe in him.

She didn’t know what to do.

Nevertheless, one question weighted heavily on her mind. Why had Adam been unaffected by her out of control kinetic abilities?

Something in his expression showed her she could trust him. She knew what she needed now—a way to get away from here before someone else got hurt. With a silent nod of her head, she allowed him to take her hand.

It felt right, as if she’d done it dozens of times before.

She didn’t know who seemed more relieved at her quieting demeanor, him or her. Her heart moved like a rushing wild thing when his larger hand clasped hers. Still the uncontrolled electrical impulse flowed around her.

With the tingle of his hand in hers came an undeniable sexual spark. One, she was surprised to admit, that drove right to her core. Jena could only hope that no one else had seen the strange effect he had on her.

The crowd parted quietly as Adam gathered her closer to him. The surge of her power was still bright as lights switches and machines sparked, burning out as they moved past. One plainclothes officer called to Adam, “Lt. Reynolds, where are you taking her?”

Adam appeared not to hear him when he attempted to repeat his question.

Jena and Adam moved together as one up the long, dingy stairwell leading outside. She could hear the soft footsteps of the plainclothes officer quietly following them as he continued to try to make contact with his superiors on a walkie-talkie which didn’t work. What could Jena do now?
