On the Verge of Madness
Tales of the Supernatural
I am proud to present my first collection of supernatural fiction, “On the Verge of Madness.” After years of writing stories, submitting them, getting either accepted or rejected, and repeating that pattern over and over, not knowing if I would ever get a publishing deal, I am excited by the opportunities and challenges offered by the new affordability of self-publishing.
The first two tales begin to reveal an overall horror-dark fantasy concept called The Fractured Realms. The novella, “Victor Chaldean and the Portal” is the first in a trilogy of novellas which will feature Victor and a growing supporting cast and offers a look at the impact of these fractured realms on our own world.
The second story, “Murmurers,” presents the character of Raven, a bitter veteran of three wars, and takes place in an alternate future, also disrupted by the fractured realms. This is also a first in a series: “The Chronicles of Raven.”
As I continue publishing more Tales of the Fractured Realms, the overall concept, and the dangers it poses for humankind, both in our own world and in other realms I have created will become apparent.
The remaining stories are independent of each other and loosely tied to the theme of the book—their protagonists being on the verge of madness.
I am writing and collecting stories for the follow-up volume, “Silhouette of Darkness: Tales of Restless Sprits and Haunted Places.” This will include Parts Two and Three of “The Chronicles of Raven,” and one more Tale of the Fractured Realms. The remaining stories will feature some kind of haunted place or spirit.
