Like many of us across the nation the economy has hit my regular job pretty hard. So I've decided to take my 30 years of professional graphics experience and ramp up the promotion of my freelance book cover design service to help keep the lights on and my cat fed! As you can see here, he's patiently waiting for dinner. :-)

I know many authors (I'm one of you!) are feeling the financial crunch. That's why I try to keep my design fees as low as possible. Right now my basic fee for a front cover only is $144 and for a full wrap (front/spine/back) it's only $288. This is about the lowest pricing for this quality of design work you are likely to find anywhere. But here's the thing. I'm going to have to raise these prices by about 30% in September. Still very reasonable prices but why not take advantage of the current rock-bottom prices while you still can?
My 30 years in the graphics and illustration field have never been so rewarding as the experience of designing book covers. I love the creative challenge of reflecting the essence of an author's story in a visual form.
My job, as a cover designer, is to give the potential reader (and, hopefully, the potential buyer!) the motivation to pick up the book and give it a browse. Once that first impression is made and the book is opened the rest is up to the author's words.
Just to provide a couple samples of the range of my work, below is one of the cover ideas for the novel I'm currently writing, followed by covers I did for other authors which are in a completely different style and genre.

But I'm not just limited to adult books. For those of you who write children's books, I do cover art for the kiddies, too! Here are a couple examples of my "Kid Friendly" art!
