Question from a Literary Agent yesterday to Trestle Press marked URGENT: “Did you just publish Stephen King?” Our answer, “Why yes, we did!”

Hey we did and we are extremely proud of it. His name is Stephen H. King and he has written “Cataclysm: Return of the Gods”. It is a very good full length novel selling for $4.99. It clearly states on the cover his full name and his bio (which I have placed below) gives you a nice snapshot of all the pertinent information.

What the bio does not tell you is that he is a really nice guy that flat out can write. I for one am very thankful that I get to work for him. He makes no bones about the fact that he is the “other” Stephen King that is why he adds the H. to his name. He could go without it and try to gain a few sales just on his name and the similarities, but I have way more respect for him and his work that he wants to be known for his writing skills and content, not the name sameness.

It is nice going to war every day with a talented author that wants to be known for his own skills and ability, so yes we say with a great deal of pride, That we do publish Stephen H. King; he rocks. To us “Stephen King” is the other “Stephen H. King”.

One last thing, the REAL Stephen H. King has a great sense of humor. I think it would make a great blogtalk radio show and be very entertaining if anybody knows the “Other” Stephen H. King tell him I am looking for him. I would like to interview both on the same show. Just ask him to email me:

Here is the synopsis and bio:

The world is rebooted from its technology foundation into a mythical existence controlled by powerful flows of elemental magic as small pockets of humans scramble to live through the resulting cataclysmic disaster. Crystal, one of those scrambling humans, survives only through the surprising powers of her husband, who teleports the family to safety.

When it turns out that he's actually Mars, the God of War, she struggles to figure out what it means to be the wife of a god. More to the point, what does it mean to be Mrs. Of War? As she comes to grips with her new reality, she suffers a series of jealous encounters with Sorscha, a shape-shifting dragon and her husband's servant who spends most of her time in stunningly beautiful human form.

Crystal soon learns, though, that her true enemy is Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and her husband's ex-wife. Worse, the goddess wants her husband back, and the game that unfolds takes Matt and Crystal to Atlantis and on an evening jaunt to Olympus, the dive bar for the gods, before ending in an epic battle for Crystal's life.

A Mississippi native, Stephen H. King was moved in high school entirely against his will from the small town of Corinth to a large city he ended up loving in southern California. After, a series of mostly unexplainable decisions led him through a strange sequence of events beginning at the United States Military Academy, where he double-majored in physics and electrical engineering, through a fairly short career as an Infantry officer and then an electronics technician, a product engineer, a carpenter’s helper, and an elementary school janitor, to ultimately finding himself on the faculty of a small college in Anchorage, Alaska.

During those years, he learned that reading science fiction and fantasy allowed him to escape the strangeness into the more understandable worlds crafted by Isaac Asimov, Piers Anthony, Marion Zimmer Bradley, and many other great writers. As time went on he began to mold his own worlds.

Stephen now lives in Midlothian, VA, with his wife, daughter, and two white Chihuahuas that enjoy morphing from Therapuppies into miniature dragons at the sound of food being opened. Stephen is currently working on the next book in the Goddess series.
