Shameless Self Promotion

I don't know who came up with this term but it was probably some angst-ridden, sexually repressed Victorian age loony who was afraid of dealing with his own lack of humility. (I'm still getting the
hang of that whole compassion/non-Judgmentalism idea) (How am I doing so far?)

You've built a great website, created a business with the primary focus of helping others and created a way to funnel literally unlimited amounts of money into
charitable causes and now it's all supposed to just sit around and get moldy
because you've been taught that it's wrong to promote yourself? Does that sound
stupid to anyone else or is it just me?

Shameless self promotion and egomania are two entirely different concepts. It's perfectly ok to work your website or your book or your business into a conversation, or
to leave flyers and cards up on bulletin boards or to list your URL on your
signature on your discussion groups.

I've been accused of shameless self promotion on a number of writers websites simply for listing my bio at the end of my articles. You are eventually going to run
into this so don't let it bug you. My usual response now when someone accuses
me of shameless self promotion is "Thank you".

It kind of reminds me of that scene in Pirates of the Caribbean when Commodore Norrington says
to Jack Sparrow "You must be the worst pirate I've ever heard of."

Sparrow smiles and says "Ah, but you HAVE heard of me."

This is a concept that continually nails authors, entrepreneurs and artists because it's been so deeply ingrained within us that self promotion is wrong. It's just another
ego trigger.

I'm not telling you that you should not be humble. You should always remember that your accomplishments are simply the manifestations of your Divine Self and that YOU (the ego) are just
the vehicle for that.

At the same time, if you run a business of any sort, it's going to be your JOB to promote that business in any way possible in order to get your message out. If you are a teacher or a healer
then you've been given a responsibility from the Universe to get the word out.

I noticed that when I was searching for Spiritual Entrepreneurs to profile in this book that very few websites listed a 'Giving Back' page, even among the 1% for the Planet
websites!

Make sure that you make it easy for people to find out what you are doing. If you don't then you are once again creating energy blocks in the system.

A great book that can help you learn how to constructively and shamelessly promote yourself is I'd Rather Be in the Studio by Alyson Stanfield.
While it's written primarily for artists, the information applies equally to
the small businessperson.

My book Awaken Your Inner Power! is available for download as a free eBook at my website - http://inner-power.net/free-ebook/

I'm happy to review any self help, new age, metaphysical, alternative healing, pagan, etc. book that I can get as a free ebook or PDF file (reciprocal reviews appreciated!).

I'm also happy to:

trade blog articles in those categories

Team up on Amazon Bestseller Campaigns

Trade radio show interviews

and pretty much whatever else it takes (as long as I don't have to dress up like Little Bo Peep) (you've gotta have some kind of boundaries).
