Special Dream - The Dream regarding a Miscarriage

There were many things I learned (when reaching out to others) regarding their special dream experience that was very different from my own experience. One topic in particular, that really stood out, were the stories from women who had miscarried a child and then saw the baby later on in a special dream. Here is one of the stories that was sent to me and I hope this helps other women who have gone through this loss.

Introduction: I had gotten married in August 1988, and it was almost five years before Joseph passed away in June 1993. Only six months into the marriage we got the bad news that Joe had cancer. I remember towards the end we use to talk a lot and I would say to him, “If you can come back to visit me in my dreams come back.” And he said he would if he could.

Special Dream: My dream happened three years after Joseph died, in the summer of 1996. I dreamt I was walking through a white grayish fog when Joey appeared to me holding a baby. He told me, “This is our child.” And I knew this was the baby I had lost in a miscarriage, but I couldn’t see it other than it was a baby, and I couldn’t tell if it was a boy or a girl. I started to cry because I wanted to stay with him and I started pleading with him to let me stay, and he kept saying, “No you have to go back, you have to go back.” I remember I could only see him from the waist up and he didn’t have any clothes on. His whole being looked healthy and he was very happy, like he was when we first got married, before the cancer. So then I had to pass through this very small door. It was almost like I swam through it and it was very easy to pass through it. I don’t know where I was, but I came back to earth and woke up right away.

When I woke up I started to cry and felt depressed and sad and I was sweating. I don’t know how long the dream lasted, but I will never forget it.
