For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers
If you've read any of my other blog posts, you know that I've
written some reports and books. I am going to self-publish
them on Kindle, and on a website that I will be working on.
One thing, that I have been wanting to tell you for a long
time, is that I've found a great way for authors to sell their
books. I orginally listened to a few free teleseminars, but
the courses were too expensive. I don't have thousands
of dollars to spend to learn how to sell books. Luckily, a
couple months ago, I found a book on the subject that
someone else wrote and it was affordable, so I bought it.
It's about selling books in non traditional ways, when I am
done I will do a review on it, and add in a case study. I believe
the only thing a writer should do is write. We are not door to
door salesman, and we shouldn't depend on book signings
to flood our bank account. It's alright for publicity, to get out
there, but just as a new band has to tour and record, after
everyone from the manager on down to the company who
designs the CDs gets paid, the band makes the least from
all their hard work. I don't want that to be for writers. Royalties
are only good if you have thousands of people buying your
books.
If publishers are going to make you do promotion, then the
best way is to do it correctly, so you'll get more cash for
your time. Writing is supposed to be fun, not a job! So, this
year, as I am eliminating a lot of old, and useless information,
I am working on the best way to sell-books or any other product.
It's proven, moderately easy, saves you time, and brings you
more sales.
If I keep focused and ignore my neverending distractions...my
casestudy should be completed in a couple of months.
