Well, the summer school holidays are here (I'm in Australia), and already my 9 and 6 year old sons have driven each other crazy, and by flow-on effect, me as well.  Won't have as much time to write my third novel over the hols, but am still plugging like crazy 'Abernethy', which is young adult - coming of age with a touch of the supernatural.  The supernatural aspect is the titular character, who is a beagle and can speak to certain people, and one of those people is my 14 year old protagonist Billy, who has to cope with being the new kid at school whilst awaiting the outcome of his father's appeal to the Court of Criminal Appeal in NSW (FYI, I have a legal background).  I'm pretty much at a loss as to how much more I can plug this thing, and I do really believe in it.  It got a good review with Australian Reader.Com (http://www.australianreader.com).  The blurb and first chapter of 'Abernethy' can be read at the publisher's website (Zeus Publications) - http://www.zeus-publications.com/abernethy/htm.  If anyone in the US is interested in purchasing a copy, I think our currencies are pretty comparable, so not too much should be lost.  Forgive the shameless spruiking, but I'm not about to upload footage of myself onto You Tube bawling and bleating like that freak who wanted everybody to leave Britney Spears alone.  Can you just imagine it?  "I work hard, writing books to entertain you bastards!"  No, thanks.  I still have some dignity, and want to hang on to it for as long as possible.  Or maybe a photo shoot in a peurile men's publication, with copies of the book placed strategically over my rude bits?  This is altogether getting a bit sad.

Still haven't finished my Christmas shopping.  Oh, well.  Anyway, I'd better take my kids for a walk to the nearby park before they commit some kind of simultaneous, synchronised fratricide.
