Bullying, a major issue facing today’s teenagers, is seen through internet community sites, texting, and in the hallways every school across the nation. After seeing first hand the effects bullying can have, MG Villesca decided this was a subject that needed to be tackled. Because many adolescent students struggle to find high-interest books, MG Villesca wrote the book hoping not only to target this particular audience, but to shed some light on bullying.

Most of the books available are written through the point of view of the victims, but very few, if any, have been written through the eyes of the bully.

Daniel, the main character, does not come from an abusive or broken home—this is a myth. Daniel’s home life, while strained, is typical for a teenager. Name-calling, texting, continual abuse, both verbal and physical, are just a few of the themes present in the book.

MG has included book discussions and questions, as well as a website that will offer author-created worksheets, chapter tests, quizzes and puzzles, and a resource page with links to other helpful sites at the end of the book.

MG Villesca is committed to tackling tough teenage topics that are affecting students everywhere no matter their class, race, or gender. To view the website or see the next book in The ME Series please visit us at:

A quick overview of the book is below.

Do the events in our lives have any influence on the type of person we become?

For Daniel Vesta, a self-described bully who terrorizes his classmates, they do. Daniel delights in torturing and exploiting people that he sees as being weaker than himself—even those people he considers to be his buddies. The only person Daniel connects with is Randy, a guy he’s known all his life and a guy who is not afraid to stand up to him. When a wilderness challenge goes fatally wrong, Daniel must face the death of his best friend and come to terms with the suspicions he has that Randy’s death may have been his fault.

This unique book, told from the perspective of the bully, gives insight into motivations of a bully and challenges readers to think about how actions and decisions affect the lives of others and, ultimately, their own.
