I love watching those TV shows that have hidden cameras that catch criminals or employees on tape doing something they shouldn’t be doing. It is funny to observe the behavior of an individual as they take every precaution not to get caught only to realize that surprise your on candid camera. In the society we live in hardly anything is done in secret especially since the internet has become more prone to gossip than actual information. On any given day you can fire up your search engine and the front page story reads celebrity is caught taking random photos or caught in compromising positions. What happens to that individual that the cameras never catch or the story is never revealed and they continue on without the world ever knowing there mischievous deed?
The truth is God is always watching beholding the evil and the good (Proverbs 15:3). He knows the secrets of our heart and if we will not confess our sin he will judge us according to those deeds. God is everywhere and no matter how far we run from him he is still present. King David in writing the Psalms wrote unto God:
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. –Psalms 139:7-12
A hypocrite is a person that says one thing and does another but hides his/her deeds from the general public. The deed may be known to a chosen few or maybe to nobody at all but still God knows the secrets of the heart (Psalm 44:21). The common fear of a person who is living a hidden life is being caught. The idea of being caught is terrifying to the person who wishes to remain hidden and their mood changes rapidly when people begin to meddle or ask questions. The truth is eventually you will be found out if not in this life then the life to come. I would rather be honest with God here on earth then to answer for those unrepented deeds face to face. The bottom line is whatever you’re hiding from God this is the moment to reveal it to him and stop doing the activity because it will cost you everything.-Amen
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.-Psalm 51:1-4
