The Poet's Heart

Is by far

A gift from God

It's voice speaks

With intensity

To the strong and weak

Of a place where the poet dares to go

Expressing thoughts and emotions, deep from within the soul

With words powerful enough to heal

In a world of good and evil

The poet's heart cares to speak the truth

With no need to people please me or you

Whether the audience can handle all of the jingle jangle

Often a dark room is lit by an enlightened candle

With faith, hope, love, and even peace

Perhaps it could even be...

Dark emotions were torn ever so deep

Tucked within the shell of it's own body

Yet, the poet's heart can make even a dead spirit come alive
