The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I'm no tech-head, so for me to get a link to an article in the local newspaper about my latest novel posted to both FB and my other blog was quite the achievement. I'm going to try and replicate this feat of cyber-accomplishment again, right here, right now...

Eureka! Fife and drum! Hang out the flags and bunting! Is anyone in the US interested in a coming of age tale with a touch of the supernatural, ie, 'Abernethy'? It's through Zeus Publications, www.zeus-publications.com. The first chapter and blurb can be perused, and if the web-surfer so desires, a copy can be purchased direct from the publisher's website. Now, I know the Aussie dollar and the US dollar are running very close at the moment, but at AUD$24.95, it's not TOO expensive and not TOO much gained or lost when converted to US currency.

I started a Twitter account today. Never thought I'd do this; can't see the point to tweeting, but as I read on this site, it's an invaluable tool for marketing these days. So far I appear to have two sex-mad deranged fiends following me. Someone sent me a nude photograph to FB, too. I blocked the person and didn't reply, but you have to wonder about people. I did wonder about sending this woman a message along the lines of, 'Why do you think I want to see you nude? Granted you have a good body, and I believe if you've got it, flaunt it, but I'm not doing too badly for a woman of 44, and I'm not interested.' This would probably inspire her to send me all sorts of pics, like her in sexual congress with the family Alsatian. I'm pretty sure I don't want to see this.

Anyway, I'm getting a bit sleepy (it's almost 10.00pm here in Australia). I have to do some paid work tomorrow, and have some speeches to write - I'm speaking to English students at a nearby school in a few weeks, for one. Got to talk on literary themes. WTF? I thought. I NEVER think about themes when reading or writing. all I want to do is entertain my reader, radical I know. Thank goodness for Google - saves me trying to find my long packed away notes from University!

Here's hoping all us writers get our books sold, and our bills paid!
