Twin Trinity Media, part of the Accentuate FAMILY of Author Services, announces the winners of the Accentuate Writers Short Story Contest theme: The Engagement. Michelle L Devon, managing editor, announced winners from a field of talented contestants. Writers vied to obtain a coveted place in the Elements of Love anthology, including a royalty contract, cash and merchandise prizes.

Joan H. Young was awarded first place for her story The Case of the Cautious Couple, which is written in the old detective serials style. Other winners include: Nancy Smith Gibson, Granny Gets Engaged; Lindsay Maddox, Denying Destiny; Kim Keason, Cassie’s Quest. Nancy Smith Gibson will also receive a contract to sell another submission, The Fiancée, as a digital download through the Twin Trinity Media website.

Robert Arend was offered a royalty contract for his entry, The Engagement Game, for inclusion in the second TTM erotic anthology, tentatively scheduled for a February 2011 release. Engaging Suitors, by Thomas Forthe, and Engaged in War, by Jaime Miller, will receive contracts to sell their short stories as digital downloads through the Twin Trinity Media website (www.TwinTrinityBooks.com).

The Ring, by Death Knight and The Token, by Lisa Lee Smith were selected as winning poetry submissions and will also be included in the Elements of Love anthology.

Contestants' submissions were judged on use of theme, adherence to submission guidelines and quality of the story and writing. The Accentuate Writers Short Story Anthology and Poetry Contest, now in its third year, gives writers an opportunity to obtain critiques, a chance to win cash and merchandise prizes and a royalty-paying publishing contract. Anyone writer, published or yet to be published, is eligible to enter the writing contests, but only the best work is included in the Accentuate Writers Anthology.

The 2010 themes are part of the Expressions Series of anthologies for TTM, and the 2009 themes are part of the Elements Series of anthologies.
