I had many reasons for producing audiobook versions of my books, and I have since discovered many benefits I had not expected. A friend had told me about
Podiobooks.com, where you can listen, for free, to books that have been serialized into audio eposides.
Podiobooks.com does afford the listener the opportunity to make a donation, of which the author will receive 75%, but profit is probably not the best reason to make an audiobook. It is a very time consuming process. Each of my
audiobooks is over 10 hours of audio. That's a lot of audio.
Though it is a daunting task, you may still want to consider it.
Podiobooks.com is quite popular, and though mostly fiction, they recently added a self-help section!
I've heard from a number of people who listened while working or commuting, others who are visually impared, others who just wanted a taste before buying my book, and still others who just love free audiobooks.
If you have any questions, I'll be happy to help out.
