Walking Away

There are no rewards for walking away,

And only through staying brings a brighter day.

Patience, endurance, preservation and resolution,

Is the only sure way and the only solution.

There are no rewards for walking away,

Why does it appear to be easier than stay?

We give our love, our secrets, our heart,

Only to leave and be so far apart.

There are no rewards for walking away,

Because it may come back to haunt you one day.

Love, dreams, understanding and trust,

Takes years to build but is a must.

There are no rewards for walking away,

And does not come from only play.

First must come effort, hope and faith,

Or love unending will remain a wraith.

There are no rewards for walking away,

To receive love everlasting, you must stay.

To find your soul mate and experience Nirvana,

You must first find trust in God, Buddha or Allah.

There are no rewards for walking away,

A life alone is a long path, a long stairway.

By giving love with courage and conviction,

Will make heaven on earth truth and not fiction.

There are no rewards for walking away,

Always remember to give the other leeway.

We all need freedom and room to grow,

And we will only reap what it is we sow. 

There are no rewards for walking away,

Life is not meant to be a straight fairway.

Peace and contentment come only when we commit,

To each other love, honour, cherish and submit.

There are no rewards for walking away,

And only through staying brings a brighter day.

Ask any married couple that lasted forever,

And they only waited for better weather.
