What Makes Humans Different From Other Animals?

What makes humans different from other animals? What makes us unique? Our clothes? Well, yes…unless you dress up your pet.

First of all, we are slightly different physically from other animals. Like we have an upright posture. Unlike other primates, we walk on two legs and this frees our hands to do all kinds of things that apes can’t do. We have lesser hair than our primate cousins, and we have opposable thumbs. Primates also have opposable thumbs, by the way. What makes us different is that we can bring our thumbs all the way across the hand to our ring and little fingers. We can also flex the ring and little fingers toward the base of our thumb. This gives us a powerful grip and exceptional dexterity to hold and manipulate tools with.
