The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Isn't it amazing ?!   My books seem to be selling quite well, so it really doesn't matter, but I find it extraordinary that not one of my SEVEN brothers and sisters or EIGHTEEN cousins have bought a copy of any of my four books.  The very people who said "ooooh, how clever, we'll buy a copy!" - ie almost all my friends - don't do so.

I was warned about this by another authors' forum.  All the things that you think your chums will help with - giving out book marks, posting good reports (the few that actually READ the book!), mentioning the name - etc etc - simply do nothing.  I wonder why it is ?  Jealousy ?  Sloth ?  A total inability to comprehend the importance of their role in their friend's career?   Or simply busy with their own lives, they just somehow don't get round to it..... ?  The latter probably.

But it does amaze me.

I think, in general, people don't like to take themselves out of their own ego routine...which, for the most part, centers on their own universe.   I think it is a combination, for lesser or greater, of the things you have mentioned.

Congratulations on your book doing well!
