Excerpt:
Cesca had never seen him so calm. Vapors rose from the water like a fine mist, sheathing his shoulders and head. He moved not an inch and she wondered if he drew breath.

He came toward her, the ripples in the water circling around her, beckoning her. "It will never be over between us," he whispered.

His words threw her mind into total disorder. She stiffened an arm and thrust it before her, hoping to hold him at bay. Still he advanced. Encircling her wrist with his outstretched hand, he pulled her to him, his warm breath fanning her wet skin. He drew her head back, bared her throat and delivered lingering kisses to the throbbing pulse in her throat. His lips traveled along the creamy flesh of her shoulder before he claimed her mouth.

A hot flame clawed through her belly when he slipped one hand beneath the water, pressed it against the small of her back and pulled her closer. She couldn’t ignore the thrill of his hard body against hers. The desire to claw his face vanished; the shred of resistance she intended to use disappeared faster than the space between their bodies.

Kissing her again, his tongue sought the inside of her mouth. With her legs wrapped around his hips beneath the water she clung to him. Her breaths came in short, rapid bursts and she heard a moan fall from her lips. He cradled her in his arms, threshed through the water and laid her in the tall grass. Spoken in Cheyenne, a curse fell from his lips as he looked down at her. She couldn't think. The droning beat of the drums, distant laughter and water trickling over rocks came to her through a fog ... before she surrendered.
