Which Cities Could Use Emily Stone the Most?

Have you ever gotten so frustrated with the crime that you see occurring in your neighborhood that you are tempted to take the law into your own hands? It could be small issues like teenagers who repeatedly leave rolls of toilet paper strung through the trees of elderly members in the community or drivers who carelessly throw trash out the window while driving down your suburban street. Or, maybe you have noticed a scary increase in more serious crimes, such as strange men talking to children on the playground or women having their purses stolen in the parking lot of the local grocery store. If the police have not been able to make you feel safer, have you thought about grabbing a camera and collecting the needed evidence on your own?
According to a survey released by Congressional Quarterly last November, what are the cities that perhaps could use some citizen assistance with their law enforcement? The top five crime-plagued cities in America are; New Orleans, LA, Camden, NJ, Detroit, MI, St. Louis, MO, and Oakland right in my home state of California. Now, I certainly am not recommending that you take to the streets and begin making citizen’s arrests in these areas every time you witness suspicious activity occurring. But, I can understand if residents of the cities listed are fed up with their environment and wish that someone could improve the sense of safety that is probably felt all too rarely.
In my new book Compulsion, I introduce readers to Emily Stone. She is a woman who, like many of you, simply wants to provide a safer community for herself and her neighbors. She uses her camera, her highly sophisticated tracking equipment, and her own strong instincts concerning the criminal mind to track down predators and prepare indisputable evidence against them, which she then hands over to the police. I hope that her story and her determination will have readers cheering for a woman who displays both the physical and intellectual strength to make a difference to those around her.
