Writers’ Podcast Kicks Off the New Year with an Exciting Series of Interviews

Writers in the Sky January Podcast Guests Discuss the Power of Effective Marketing for Everyone from the Fab Four to Fabulous Authors

Nashville, TN, December 31, 2008 – The members of Writers in the Sky will be ringing in 2009 with three interviews that offer our listeners fascinating perspectives on the world of marketing, both past and present. If your New Year’s resolution is to publicize your work in a way that will reach as many people as possible, then these podcasts will be essential tools in your preparation. First, a lawyer who worked with The Beatles will share some insights into how the most successful band in the world was discovered and marketed. Next, a public relations expert will provide great tips on getting your name into the media and keeping it there. And, we round out the month by talking with an author who has a series of new eBooks designed to help anyone interested in using technology as a marketing tool.

On January 16, Sarah Moore, author’s assistant for Writers in the Sky, will be talking with author Charles Tillinghast about his new book How Capitol Got the Beatles. Tillinghast worked for fifteen years as the head of the Law Department of Capitol Records, including the time during which The Beatles were signed with the label. He shares inside information about how the contract with The Beatles almost did not come to pass, who really discovered the Fab Four, and how strains in personal relationships caused problems with the band’s contract negotiations. Listeners will enjoy this valuable information concerning the record industry specifically and effective marketing in general. Our next interview is hosted by Yvonne Perry on January 23. She will be speaking with author and publicist Pam Lontos. Ms. Lontos is president of PR/PR, a public relations firm that gets experts, authors, and speakers into the media, and recently earned the great honor of being named “Publicist of the Year” by BPSC. Ms. Lontos will be discussing her new book I See Your Name Everywhere: Leverage the Power of the Media to Grow Your Fame, Wealth, and Success. Detailing information that is certain to be important to all aspiring authors, Ms. Lontos’ book includes how to get your name into media, prepare for an interview, and create a winning press release. She also shares the most common publicity mistakes. This is a must-listen interview with a professional who excels in her field. There is no doubt that a new world has opened in terms of marketing online. If you have ever thought that jumping into these new venues was beyond your abilities, don’t miss our last interview this month on January 30. MaAnna Stephenson will be interviewed by Yvonne Perry to share some information concerning her Just the FAQs eBook series. Blogs, written both for professional and personal purposes, are becoming increasingly sophisticated and instrumental in how we gather information. Do you need to learn how to create and customize your own blog? How do you submit articles to the right directories that are certain to drive traffic to your website or blog? How do you best get your blog content to potential and current readers? Billed as the “Online Marketing Resources for Non-Geeks,” the four offerings include new eBooks on blogs, RSS feeds, Web sites, and articles. For more information about MaAnna Stephenson and her eBook series, please visit http://www.justthefaqs.net.

“We are excited to provide these three interviews that are of great relevance to anyone who is interested in learning new ways to excel in their chosen field,” shares Yvonne Perry, owner of Writers in the Sky Creative Writing Services, which produces the podcast. “I am certain that authors and others in the writing field who tune in every week will appreciate the professional insight shared by our three authors this month.”
