Linton,
Thanks for the nice comments. My
illustrator is terrific.
Mei Mei is taking years to come but worth it,
just so frustrating.
China has many issues going on now that have slowed
down adoption unlike when we adopted our first daughter.
Regards,
Bonnie
Hi! Sorry for my month delay in saying "hello" back--day job and two toddlers have kept me hopping a lot lately. I signed up on this network then had to disappear for a bit.
ANYWAY, UW (creative writing) and Mexico--sounds like only a matter of time until we bumped into each other in this small world.
Thanks for dropping me a line. My book "Bungle in the Jungle" takes place in the Yucatan. I set it at a fictional dig site near Coba. I spent so much time in the Yucatan in my mind, reading everything I could get my grubby fingers on to try to make the setting realistic. Someday, I will come down that way and get to experience the Yucatan for real. This summer, we are hitting a small surfing town above Puerto Vallarta for 2 weeks--can't wait. I foresee another Mexico story coming as a result.
Where in the Yucatan do you live? How long have you been down there. You have an impressive resume.
Good luck! and keep in touch.
Oh, and my UW degree got me a tech writing job for a banking software company--not very creative, but I guess it pays the bills. ;)
I appreciate your suggestion. Please let me explain I am not completely new at writing. I am very selective at what information I draw to because too much can be confusing and heading in the wrong direction where I am going. For instance I write with purpose not for entertainment. I've been writing since I was a teenager. I've written over 50 stories, a few poems and written a few plays.
Linton, you've been stealing my thoughts! And my treatment for Boneyard is getting shopped around now...hope you get the chance to check out the book when it comes out in July!
Hi Linton, I'm an author who writes for children. I think Illustrators are amazing. There's nothing like getting absorbed into a beautifully illustrated book or painting.
Thanks for the avatar compliment.

Thanks for adding me. It's good to know you. You seem a highly qualifeid and well respecte gentleman in literary circles, alwasy a pleasure to meet such a man. I'll be looking forward to hearing news of your publishing ventures as the year progresses.
You asked: Did you find a lot of cross-over skills between your jobs as cow milker and campaign manager? :-)
Lemme see . . . the hours are gawdawful, you'll deal with some of the most stubborn creatures on the planet, you may get kicked in the teeth at any moment, and the pay is abysmal. So yes, there was considerable crossover.

I feel as if I have done all I could to promote my book, and what have I gotten in return, NOTHING!
Needed to vent a bit. Haha! Thanks for letting me vent in your space.
