janet,
I was just checking out all the groups and found yours. I do not speak spanish, well (Pokito...) and in my story I met a girl named Gloria. She spoke spanish and I wanted to say -in spanish- her words.Unfortunatly i don't have a clue how to spell them.
I think she said something like this.Part English, part spanish.
"The pictures,Ey ..the two of them...Deo con es tu corozone." (I interpreted her to say)The pictures,oh ...the two of them...God is in your heart. She continued in English, praising God for his mercy, and told me how all the staff members had been aware of us, due to the pictures on the wall in Bill's ICU room.
If this is to confusing...i'm sorry. I just thought you might be able to spell out what I'm trying to say in spanish. Thank you, Valerie
Following is the information to book me on your radio show. Please email my publiscist, she handles my schedule. She does not charge so don't worry: Mona Loring, contact@monaloring.com. Thank you ever so much. Smiles, Tena
Tena,
Are they strictly books you have written, or are you publishing other authors as well? The thing that I have found works best is (1) contact the school librarians in the area around where you (or the author) lives. Word of mouth is still the best reviews you can get. (2) See if the school districts in your area has a newsletter they send out to teachers and see if they will include a short note about the book. (3) Call the school secretary in your area and find out the names of the teachers for the grade level you are aiming at, offering to talk to the classes. Don't expect payment for this, as most school districts are more prone to be paupers than even authors are! (4) Call the program chairman of the local/regional PTA's and see if you can make a presentation at one of their meetings. If you can get the parents and teachers behind your books, it will spread to the kids, but don't forget that it works the other way around too.
Hope that helps some.
Thank you for the links. Very useful. I feel my books will serve the counseling departments in schools. Would you happen to have any advice regarding school submissions for reveiw? Thanks again.
Sounds good to me. I love Christmas, and I have two Christmas books out, plus one that's been converted by Billie Williams to a script for this year. Can you send me an email so I can get the phone number to you before Oct. 8? My email addy is janetelainesmith@yahoo.com
I'm looking forward to it.
What a varied radio show you have, and a huge audience! Wow!
I am finally getting my butt in gear with my writing. Still not sure which projects I want to focus on. And what seems to be coming out of me most easily after years of not writing is poetry. I will be reading my poetry July 12 locally and I am very excited about doing this.
What kind of guests are you specifically looking for?
I've not been an agent very long--only about six months. For the last five years I've been a book acquisitions editor with two different publishers. I have only signed a few clients-and have many people knocking on my door to be clients. It's a challenge to find the right ones but I continue to actively look.
Great to meet you and I look forward to learning more.
Hi Janet,
I hope it does makes us smarter. Worth a try. I can't keep up with so many people though. And thanks for the comment on my tartan. It was a fun day.

Hi Janet,
I'm slow but sure. Hope to get my page from out of storage and put some stuff on it. And...leave some comments. I'm finding less and less time for writing which is NOT a good thing. But...only I can control that.
Love your novel, Old Habits Die Hard. Also, A Christmas Dream. I think you'll love my story, The Kahills of Willow Walk also.
