Hello, I'm Bert Martinez, I'm looking to network with success minded authors. If you would like my free report 30 Strategies for Selling More Books just fill out the form below. I look forward to networking with you and if there is anything that I can help you with please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sharon------Thanks for your best wishes for my forthcoming chapbook. I'm not a believer in Christianity, but I have never disliked anyone who follows the Gospels. I'm trying to be a Buddhist, a secular Buddhist----though it is not know as such in the East. It's known as DHARMA, "the way." There are some very noble sentiments in the dharma. One I will share with you, as it might be appropriate at this time of year------the Christian Holiday and the Occidental New Year. When the Buddha was enlightened, it was not only himself who became enlightened, but he brought all of creation, all the universe and its objects and forms of life, to enlightenment with him. So we are all enlightened in potential, except we do not realize it. That's what enlightenment means: to become aware that we are all ready enlightened. I find this comforting because it assumes an enlightened substrate in the human species, and not sin and depravity. Ted
I send you greetings of peace and love from the rest of the family. They, like I, are always with you and never leave or forsake you. The angels and the rest of us want you to know how precious you are to us.
When I agreed to give up my divinity and be born in the flesh, I did so very willingly. I looked forward to the time when we, you and us, could all be together and share in everything that is. I looked forward to loving you, hugging you, comforting you and encouraging you so that, when your life gets tough, you will feel secure and supported enough to face whatever you have to face. I looked forward to being the one you could rely upon unconditionally for that strength, comfort and encouragement whenever and however you need it.
Not only that, I looked forward to sharing with you that we created you to love you, and that we so hoped and desired that you would love us back. We want you in our life, and we love it when you want us in yours. It was so exciting when I could turn to my disciples and expand our relationship to include friendship and true fellowship. I offer that friendship and fellowship to you today as well, and I look forward to your inviting me into your life in that way.
You can see there are many reasons why I came in the flesh so many years ago. There’s more! I also wanted to set you free from thoughts and behaviors that hurt you emotionally and spiritually. If you were hurt by people or experienced hard times in your life and lost things like your health, relationships, or your way of life because of disaster or unemployment, I wanted to give you the tips and tools as well as the encouragement to recover emotionally and spiritually from who or what hurt you so you could have the kind of life I want you to enjoy.
Most of you understand why I sacrificed my life for you and what an act of love that was. It is my hope that this letter will help you understand how very much more my life and ministry were to accomplish. I look forward to expanding our relationship now and forever.
Joyfully, Jesus

So---Because I haven't heard disclaimers about my propostion posted above: Unless you get lucky and find an agent or editor, or self-publish and exhaust yourself in marketing to sell enough copies to interest one of the commercial publishers, then the best strategy is to publish yourself using your own imprint (and not that of a POD/Self-Publisher or Vanity Press---like Vantage) and market yourself online and in other venues. And you should form a company and do business as a sole proprietor for the tax advantages because you'll spend a lot on marketing/promotion. For some reason, the newpaper / book review publications like self-printed-published books under your own imprint---possibly because it's what many writers in the early part of the 20th century did, from William Carlos Willians to Anais Nin and too many others to mentions. (They had their books printed by a local printer and passed them out to friends, colleagues, and such---and eventually came to the notice of someone in the publishing industry.) I doubt this method would work, anymore. There are so many mss and books coming OTT that editors shovel them out of their offices. I might try Canada, where I have certain connections. Besides, as my mother was culturally French-Canadian, but I also have English-speaking relatives, I might want to reclaim part of my heritage. However----Many of my mss have unmistakable American components. Alas, foiled again!
John T., I'm not good at selling myself, either. But I'll buy all the ten dollar bills for five bucks that you're willing to part with! LOL! I put up a long (too long) blog post today. You may read it and comment, if you want. Maybe you've located a small press, something I didn't mention in my blog post. But small presses are coterie presses, and you have to be totally in sync with their publishing philosophy, and also, most probably, be part of their in-group or know someone who is. Good luck with whomever you found. As for me, if I don't like Publish America, I'll form my own company. I may also return to my hometown area where I know lots of people and have easy access to the colleges there and attempt to put together a company of writers and marketers and publicists.
Hi Ted, I had my first book Daddy, Could You Love Me? with PublishAmerica and I was offered a contract with them for my second book Before We Disappear. I did not go back to them a second time because newspapers and other media will not be turned on when you mention PA However, I sent my book to another publisher in Salt Lake City UT. I'm getting vibes from them. Poor promotion dept. I'm no salesman. I couldn't sell fire wood to Eskimos why, I doubt I could sell a 10.00 bill for 5.00 Some people have it and some don't. I don't John Turner
