Something About Me and My Book:: During the last twenty years I have written over 1,000 weekly columns, articles, and features on wine, food, travel, and outdoors for Murdoch, Harte Hanks, and Hearst newspapers. My features and contributions have appeared in national periodicals like Chef, Wine Spectator, Wine News, Wine Enthusiast, Field & Stream, and Food & Wine. I has published two short stories “The Decanter, A Christmas Story” and “Toby Tire and His Erratic Curve Ball”

Create a Market Survey For Your Fiction Submission

OK, here’s the problem. You are an unpublished author, and an editor has requested a complete manuscript of your novel. They read the manuscript, and they “just love it,” BUT they’re not sure of the market for the book. As far as chapter length I don't think there are any rules. Chapter 1 in Horizons Past was originally part of Chapter 2 with a *** time break, but my editor said to make it a separate Chapter. My only personal rule is that the first chapter should be long enough the reader must make an investment in the book that will encourage them to keep reading.
I appreciate your reading the book. there's a forum on that Blog wher you can comment and critique as you read. Bill

I read the first chapter. It was very short. I think my chapters are all twenty or more pages...is there any special page limits on chapters....

I'll keep on reading. Do you find by putting up a book on a blog it brings more people to your website....I don't see where too many have been to mine...so perhaps I'm not getting out there enough....
