What's Your Biggest Challenge with Your Book?

I'd be interested to learn what authors/publishers on this network think their biggest challenges are with their book. I wonder if there's any common, pervasive challenge we all face.

Thank you, Freva.

God has a reason for everything. After losing a husband and daughter from alcoholism, I still believe He is full of Mercy and Love.

I'm looking forward to the publication of Someone Stop This Merry-Go-Round; An Alcoholic Family in Crisis. I'll let you know when it comes out.

Hi Alberta ,
I am really surprised that inspite of losing your dear and near one you praise God . Your faith is absolutely touching .

Hi Padma,

I believe we all belong to God and are gifts to someone. He will call us home when we have done our work.

I'm not as strong as I sound. I have some heartbreaking moments. My daughter, Lori's, birthday is July 29th. It tears at my soul.

Talking at half-way homes, rehabs, Catholic Woman's Ministries and whoever wants me, helps. I could never stand in front of a crowd, never mind talk.

So, this has to be God's plan for me. I do it and worry about the nerves when I get to the location. Funny, once I start talking, I relax.

Yeah , my niece died about 8 years back , but still it hurts.

I live in Massachusetts and leave Friday the 12th for California for two weeks. We start out at LA, Palm Springs and ride Route 1 along the coast to sight-see and end up in Santa Rosa. While I'm there, I'll be book signing at Borders Bookstore in Santa Rosa.

It's exciting. I'll be happy to get away from the computer for awhile.

I added my book on your site, one of them anyway. It's been getting higher sales so far so I thought I would push it a little more to see if I can do even better. There's still a lot of people who don't know about this book yet lol. I would love to bring my sales up!

Does anyone had or has any experience with Blu Sky Media Group? I am about to sign a contract with them for a historical fiction series.

No but congradulations!

Amber
Hi Florian,

I went on Preditors and Editors and only saw Blue Sky Press, 555 Broadway, NY. Not sure if it's the same publisher; it's for children's books. They had nothing bad to say about them.

Hope it helps.

I feel that my biggest challenge is time management. I have written for major publishers as well as small presses, but always had a book deadline to keep me on schedule. Now, that I have my own publishing company, there are just too many things to do, from writing novels, to promotion, to producing book videos, to reading new manuscripts. However, I must admit that it is a fun type of challenge, and I'm grateful to be doing something I love.

Allura Publishing
Loure, you're absolutely right regarding time management. One would have to devote quality time that is applied to each endeavor to balance out all of the extra-curricular agendas that crop up relative to any given task. So with that said, the application can be best manifested when you are doing your own thing as opposed to working someone else's deadline. Unlike you, I'm not a household name as of yet, but the anthology, THE SOUL OF A MAN has several of my essays therein, and it makes all the difference in the world to me to make sure that whatever I do to tout the book it will have my signature on it where time is not an option, but a given!
Thank you Amber.
No, Alberta, there are two different distributors. So far, all I can find about Blu Sky Media Group is that they come highly recommended. Their books are everywhere.
