The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I'd like to start a new forum where people can talk about what's working for you right now in marketing your book.

I think this will help other authors to prioritize their activities if they can find out what's working for other people. This would be especially valuable to new authors.

I've share the hottest tool that I'm using right now. And that's Twitter. As you will note on the main page of this Book Marketing Network website, both my http://www.bookmarket.com website and this network have been rising in Alexa ranks (and visits) because of my use of Twitter.

Were you able to get the MP-3 file from the radio engagement or speaking engagement to post on your website? I did that and felt it was worth the money, even though I don't know that I sold any books.
My wife just did a news release on PRWeb. They gave statistics showing that a lot of people opened it and some people posted it (good incoming links), but nobody bought the book as a result and nobody booked her on radio. Perhaps a good long-term investment in terms of getting the word out, but nothing short-term as far as sales. She did get a nice radio interview when she did a release through Bostick.

I agree, there's no certainty in all of this.

I guess it's all who is reading the post and the interest.
My book will be out in February and for the last few months I have been building my presence on social networking sites including Twitter, so I am glad to hear that this has been working for you. I would love for you to share more about how you have used Twitter to get book sales.
I have become a huge fan of twitter! I am starting to bulid a lot of followers.
Has anyone heard of Mike Huges from the www.ProducttalkShowcase.com. It's advertising through viral video and the Electronic Retailer. It sounds like Bostick Communications. It looks good for product but I can't see how it helps an author. Check their site out and give me your opinion.
It's worth trying....
You should be able to do better on your own by creating real relationships with other websites that are really targeted to your audience.
I would like to find out whats working for others. I am new in a publicity action and don't know much. All I did until now is that I shared the information where I can, I made few book trailers and put them on all the pages I can...still I do not have any feedback...
Hi Kamelia,

To start.........BE SEEN! Get "free" radio, local newspaper and cable television interviews. Have your books on hand at all times, in your car. Take them into banks and introduce yourself.
Thanks Alberta,
If you know some "free" radio please let me know. For now only what I can do is contacting by the internet, sice I live in Macedonia. But I soon plan to come to US
Your book has very interesting subject and it is very important to communicate with people who have the same experience and problem
Best
Kamelia
Hi Kamelia,
Remember a lot of radio shows do interviews by telephone and written questions sent by the internet. Check them out.
