What's Your Biggest Challenge with Your Book?

I'd be interested to learn what authors/publishers on this network think their biggest challenges are with their book. I wonder if there's any common, pervasive challenge we all face.

You can do author events at schools without an endorsement from a writer organization that doesn't recognize legitimate books.
Yes, it is a good idea, but my challenge is "beautiful" English. I feel not well, because I make lot's of mistakes and do not have enough vocabulary.
Thanks! I'm new at this and still trying to learn the ropes. I have to figure out a way to be taken seriously since I'm not associated with Scholastic or other big name publishers.
Esther,

There are review places that librarians respect that you can send it to after publication.

You might can put a free press release on this site that targets librarians. You can see my press release as an example on their site here:

If they put up the press release, just printing the release as a part of a library press release site and handing it to a librarian might be enough to let libraries know they should take you seriously.

You also might want to submit your book to VOYA (Voice of Youth Advocates) for review. If they favorably review your book, you can print it and use it with schools and librarians. They have the ear of librarians who want to add to their youth collections.

I think it was one of those two places that started libraries sending in orders to distributors, landing me a contract with a great distributor to libraries.
Dear Steve,
Your link http://liswire.com/content/personal-finance-book-teaches-gen-y-go-%...
does not work. Please check it or give another one.
O, yes, it is working! Thanks!
Thanks! I will definitely look into this!
I feel like my greatest challenge right now is trying to find the time to do the social networking/marketing I feel is necessary to self-promote and also do the work required to finish the book. Any suggestions are welcome!
I do an awful lot of social networking or as we call it in the business, social selling. But, having said that, I must confess, it takes a lot of time and if a person has a full time job, it would be difficult. My full time job is writing so it is no bother. Good luck, I do hope you get your book finished, we would like to see you do that. Dr M
My full-time job right now is writing also, but I find that I hardly have time to write with the social networking/selling. It can be frustrating. Thanks for the encouragement though. I'll keep plugging away.
Tiia--

It might help to outsource soclal media to a virtual assistant that's what I do to maintain my blog--i also use hootsuite.com to preset my Twitter accounts a day in advance & ping.fm to update multiple accounts at once. hope this helps.
